She calls herself an "endless prisoner of hope" and demonstrates that by her many community activities. She spends much of her free time as a volunteer for organizations like the Shepherd's Hope Clinic, as a mentor for the Compact Program for Orange County Public Schools, Member of the Association of Hispanic Professional Women of Central Florida, Member of the UCF Alumni Association, and Central Florida Chapter Board Member for Lighthouse of Central Florida.

Mark Siegel - Political Strategist

Mark Siegel has 25 years of experience on the highest level serving and providing strategic counsel to a broad range of domestic private and public sector clients. Mark recently co-authored the book "Reconciliation: Islam, Democracy, and the West" with former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. An engaging academic, writer and advocate, Mark served as Deputy Assistant to President Jimmy Carter, Legislative Assistant to Senator and former Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey (D-MN), Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee under Chairman Robert S. Strauss, and Chief of Staff to Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY). Mark holds a PhD in political science (congressional behavior and political parties) and has appeared frequently on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX as a political analyst and strategist.

Deborah German, MD

Deborah German, MD - Dean, UCF College of Medicine

Dr. German earned her M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. She was a resident in medicine at the University of Rochester in N.Y. and a fellow in rheumatic and genetic diseases at Duke University. As an associate investigator in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Duke she studied adenosine metabolism and published the first assay for adenosine in human plasma. She was associate dean of medical education at Duke. She then spent 13 years in medical education at Vanderbilt and during that time was associate dean for students and then senior associate dean of medical education and national chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Student Affairs. She next led Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville as its President and CEO and was Chief Academic Officer of Saint Thomas Health Services. Dr. German led a successful hospital turn-around and initiated service excellence and quality programs at the hospital that received national recognition. Dr. German spent a year at the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, D.C. as a Petersdorf Scholar in Residence studying the leadership of academic health centers framed in the concepts of chaos theory and complex adaptive system science.

Cecil Wilson, MD

Cecil Wilson, MD - Immediate Past Chair, AMA Board of Trustees

Dr. Wilson was elected to the American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees in June 2002 and currently serves as its immediate past chair. He has been a member of the AMA House of Delegates since 1992. Dr. Wilson has a distinguished record of service and leadership in organized medicine. He was president of the Florida Medical Association (FMA) and chair of its board of governors and executive committee. He has served as president of the Orange County Medical Society, and of the medical staffs of the Winter Park Memorial Hospital and Florida Hospital Medical Center, Orlando, Fla. Dr. Wilson received his bachelor's degree in history and his doctorate from Emory University, Atlanta. He interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Va., and completed his residency in internal medicine at the U.S. Naval Hospital, San Diego. He served as a Navy flight surgeon, rising to the rank of commander. Dr. Wilson has been in private practice of internal medicine in Central Florida for 30 years. He is board-certified in internal medicine and a Master of the American College of Physicians (ACP).
